The second edition<\/b> of the spectacular Epizode Festival<\/b> is now just a very fond and magical memory, so we would like to recap what made it so special.<\/p>\n

\u00a0The 10 day long<\/b> musical extravaganza on Vietnam\u2019s<\/b> painfully beautiful Phu Quoc<\/b> brought heavyweight names like Ricardo Villalobos, Dixon,\u00a0<\/b>Ame,\u00a0<\/b>Peggy Gou, Loco Dice, Luciano, Marcel Dettmann, Sofia Rodina, Bambounou<\/b> and many more to Asia for some special sets at sunrise, sunset and plenty in between.\u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n

It was a line-up like the region has never seen before and offered plenty of debutants. Huge sets played out in special locations on the beach, under the stars and in hot sun including some impromptu b2b sessions<\/b> organised at the after party stage which saw unlikely pairings such as Chris Liebing<\/b> and Marcel Dettmann<\/b> throw down at 10am and wAFF, Pan – Pot, Nick Fanciulli<\/b> lining up for another all morning session the following day. As well as that,\u00a0Luciano<\/b> played an amazing set on the main stage at night, then another special one at sunset set, and like many DJs hung around for a few days to connect with the crowd, fellow DJs and industry folk.<\/b> It lent the whole festival a real community feel and means it is a great place to start off the year.<\/div>\n
\u00a0\"\"<\/div>\n
Large parts of the crowd were from international destinations such as Australia, the USA, South America, UK, Italy, Germany<\/b> and many different parts of Asia<\/b>, on top of the hardcore following from Russia<\/b> who come as a result of the promoters being the same people behind Kazaptip.<\/b> All this\u00a0shows that the Epizode<\/b> brand is attracting international attention and has cemented its place on the festival circuit. The festival went viral with videos such as Ricardo’s After Party<\/b> set taking over Facebook feeds, focusing the attention of the Electronic Music Industry on a tiny island in south east Asia that is now a real player on the global market.<\/div>\n

Stunning sound systems, wonderful production that included giant art sculptures on the beach, immersive stages and colourful dancers, palm trees, confetti explosions and all sorts of other visual delights all made this an escapist experience with a world class sound track.<\/div>\n
