To date,\u00a0<strong>over \u00a362.5k\u00a0<\/strong>(inc gift aid) has been raised by the climb, much of which will be used to finance the building of a specialist accommodation facility for 25-50 special needs children &amp; their single mothers which is now nearing completion.\u00a0The project began with LNADJ\u2019s 2017 Cycle\u00a0Ibiza Challenge, which raised the funds for the first building phase. Another \u00a330,000 was raised from their first climb in June (2018).<\/p>\n<p>The international team of 17 climbers also included\u00a0Shovell, Defected\u2019s master musician &amp; percussionist, Jihad Samhat of Radio Beirut &amp; LNADJ founder Jonny Lee as well as 59 porters!<\/p>\n<p>A mini cultural event complete with Funktion One sound donated by Audio Sans Frontieres took place\u00a0on September 22nd near the town of Moshi featuring lots of local talent as well as Nightmares On Wax following the ascent of the summit.<\/p>\n<p>Climb sponsors included\u00a0<strong>SOUNDBOKS, Funktion-One (Official), Clubaholic, Loopmasters, Mixcloud, Pioneer DJ, Point Blank Music School, 432, Bop DJ, Empiric, Large minority Travel, Cube19,\u00a0Warp Records, Bozboz, Reuben Sinclair, Broadgate Search Ltd, Frangipani Men&#8217;s Shirts, Indie Brands, The Fleming EMC, Global Telesat Communications, Skiddle, Wired Events, Audio Sans Frontieres.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>George Evelyn aka Nightmares On Wax\u00a0<\/strong>comments,<em>\u00a0\u201cThe 12 days I spent in Tanzania have been super eye opening, be that visiting the homes of Feathers Tale and Angels Gate, to climbing Mt Kilimanjaro. Each step of the way I feel I was shown the might of the human spirit. From the hardships these children experience to the porters helping us on our climb on the mountain &amp; those felt by our own team doing the climb. It has shown me the human spirit is alive , unwavering and evident .
