Known and loved as \u2018The Godfather of House\u2019, he directed the flow of love across the dancefloor of the Chicago Warehouse and beyond. With seminal singles \u2018Your Love\u2019 and \u2018Baby Wants To Ride\u2019 featuring as mainstays on his reel to reel before their release in 1987, this was only the beginning for Frankie. His 1991 studio album \u2018Beyond The Mix\u2019 on Virgin Records, featured one track that would stay in the hearts and minds of generations to come. Earning him his first US Dance Chart number one, this was <strong>\u2018The Whistle Song\u2019<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Five years ago this weekend, we lost the \u2018Godfather of House\u2019, <strong>Frankie Knuckles<\/strong>. In continued commemoration of such a legendary figure, long-time friend and writing partner <strong>Eric Kupper <\/strong>is set to release an album bringing together the definitive collection of \u2018<strong>Directors Cut\u2019 <\/strong>works; the last works ever created by Frankie. Working alongside each other under \u2018<strong>Directors Cut\u2019<\/strong>, Frankie and Eric shared equal credits for their output.<\/p>\n<p>A production and writing partnership producing original releases and remixes from 2011, their sole aim was to release new music, re-producing and re-purposing classic cuts to work on modern dance floors. Reworking the likes of <strong>Marshall Jefferson<\/strong>, <strong>Inya Day<\/strong>, <strong>Candi Staton<\/strong>, <strong>The Sunburst Band<\/strong>, <strong>Art Department<\/strong> and <strong>Hardsoul<\/strong>; all standing alongside and sharing equal status with Frankie\u2019s originals.
