Welcoming a collection of artists who represent the foundations of the musical institutions we recognise today, the weekend&#8217;s music program is also supported by a wealth of emerging talent,\u00a0all presented with exceptional production for the optimal experience.\u00a0Ever evolving, The Hydra continue to provide a platform to showcase the most exciting electronic music in London.<\/p>\n<p>Extending across three days of music from\u00a0<strong>Friday 23rd to Sunday 25th August 2019<\/strong>, the long weekend commences with a very special live performance from globally acclaimed composer\u00a0<strong>Nils Frahm<\/strong>\u00a0for his only London festival set this summer<strong>.<\/strong>\u00a0Supporting Nils Frahm is\u00a0founding member of pioneering ambient electronic group Global Communication,\u00a0<strong>Tom Middleton<\/strong>,\u00a0performing an interpretation of the seminal 1994 album &#8217;76:14\u2019, celebrating 25 years since its release.<\/p>\n<p>Saturday&#8217;s eleven-hour dancefloor session, pays homage to techno&#8217;s many textures in the Press Halls with the cosmic sounds of\u00a0<strong>Jeff Mills<\/strong>\u00a0at the helm.\u00a0<strong>Ben Klock<\/strong>\u00a0brings his trademark\u00a0sound\u00a0to the show and Juan Atkins\u2019 Detroit originators,\u00a0<strong>Model 500<\/strong>\u00a0play a rare live set. Fused with influences from acid and electro,<strong>Helena Hauff<\/strong>\u00a0has carved out a unique style that never fails to deliver, whilst\u00a0<strong>Terrence Dixon<\/strong>\u00a0will treat The Hydra faithful to a debut live set of minimal sound design. The rising talents of Fever AM founder\u00a0<strong>Mor Elian<\/strong>completes the techno exploration.<\/p>\n<p>In counterpoint to the widescreen ethos of the main room, Printworks&#8217; intimate Dark Room will host sets from\u00a0<strong>Move D<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Willow<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Damiano von Erckert<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>DEBONAIR<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Reaching the finale on Sunday, the Press Halls will yet again host a roster of pioneers with a distinctly Stateside theme.\u00a0<strong>Larry Heard<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>D\u0101M-FunK<\/strong>\u00a0will each perform live. This will be Larry&#8217;s only London show this year. DJ sets come from Motor City icons\u00a0<strong>Carl Craig<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Moodymann<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Theo Parrish<\/strong>\u00a0whilst The Hydra co-Founder\u00a0<strong>Dolan Bergin<\/strong>\u00a0sets the tone.<\/p>\n<p>Jazz, Soul and Hip Hop as imagined via the prism of electronic music for Dark Room on this one.\u00a0DJ sets\u00a0come from\u00a0<strong>Lefto<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Joe Armon-Jones<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Ash Lauryn<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Sofie<\/strong>\u00a0while The Hydra deliver another rare live\u00a0performance from California based\u00a0<strong>Ras G<\/strong>, whose latest\u00a0\u2018Dance Of The Cosmos\u2019 EP is one of the records of the year so far for the organisers.<\/p>\n<p>Upholding the highest production standards, The Hydra have appointed leading industry figures to provide impeccable sound and stunning visuals throughout the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Adding his flair to both Saturday and Sunday\u2019s all-day sessions,\u00a0<strong>Rebel Overlay\u00a0AKA Spencer Heron<\/strong>\u00a0is a ground-breaking visual mapping artist. Having supplied visuals for The Hydra\u2019s inaugural show in 2012 and ever since, he is now amongst the most sought-after\u00a0visual artists in his field, working with the likes of Skepta and\u00a0many others\u00a0across European and U.S tours.<\/p>\n<p>Having learnt their craft at their Panorama Bar residencies,\u00a0Lighting Designers\u00a0<strong>Tiefton<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Natalie Heckl<\/strong>,\u00a0have gone on to tour\u00a0their visual narrative world-wide.\u00a0Their considered and patient approach perfectly\u00a0complements the\u00a0music and helps create an ambiance and atmosphere, which\u00a0is\u00a0unique to\u00a0The Hydra\u2019s London shows.\u00a0The pair have found their home in London having been a\u00a0regular fixture at The Hydra\u2019s shows for some years now.<\/p>\n<p>Nils Frahm\u2019s live show will be accompanied by visuals from\u00a0<strong>Stuart Bailes<\/strong>, Nils\u2019\u00a0own in-house technician.\u00a0<em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>In a departure from Printworks usual daytime operating hours, Saturday&#8217;s event will run from 3pm &#8211; 2am.<\/p>\n<p>Founders\u00a0<strong>Dolan Bergin<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Ajay Jayaram<\/strong>\u00a0launched The Hydra\u00a0on the same August bank holiday in 2012. As London\u2019s most influential electronic music promoters today, they continue the legacy of boundary-defining music culture in the city.
