Originally launched in 2020<\/strong>, Move The Record<\/strong> was devised in response to the uncertain future and economic strain that independent record stores worldwide have faced due to the pandemic.<\/p>\n

This summer the streaming initiative will return for 4 consecutive Thursdays<\/strong> from July 1st<\/strong> \u2014 4x 6-hour<\/strong>broadcasts from stores around the world featuring residents and special guests, with a view to driving online sales and footfall to shops that can open, and to encourage customers to invest in their local spot.<\/p>\n

Supporters can also contribute and buy merch via a Crowdfunder, with 100% of proceeds to be split evenly across the stores.<\/p>\n

The first edition last year featured Phonica (London), KMA60 (Berlin), Subwax (Barcelona), Deficit (Moscow), Halcyon (New York), H\u00e2us (Buneos Aires)<\/strong> and more, with artists such as Bradley Zero, Dana Ruh, Steffi, Prins Thomas, Josh Cheon, Fred P<\/strong> all performing.<\/p>\n

Edition #2 stores include Kristina Records<\/strong> (London), Caf\u00e9 Artum<\/strong> (Birmingham), Mad Piano<\/strong> (Bucharest), Seawolf Records<\/strong> (Amsterdam), NUT Records<\/strong> (Barcelona), La Rama<\/strong> (Montreal) and more.<\/p>\n
