TIME LOST:

ALDEBARAN: I CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT MUSIC

Today we have met an artist who is undoubtedly in a fantastic moment and he is Michele aka Aldebaran who is taking out in all the labels that are proposed. We already noticed some time ago in his work but with his album for Multinotes, his track in Kompakt and his collaboration with the recent Aera label we have stuck to his door.Hi Michele, First of all, how old are you? and when do you start in the music world?

A: Hello! Well I am 27 years old and I started in the music world since I was a child 🙂

FB: What or who encourages you to install Ableton (Other) and start making music?

A: A good friend forced me to install Ableton. Until then I was working with Cubase.

FB: I guess you start as a hobby but suddenly you realize that you can live from this because you do it very well. When was that moment? What is it that definitely made you think that you want to dedicate yourself to music?

A: The moment was definitely my first album with Multinotes two years ago. I can’t live without music, if I can’t play or make it, I’m listening to it all day long.

FB: How many years have you been locked up in the studio like the one who says?

A: About 10 years. I started when I was in high school.

FB: What does your studio consist of? Analog machines, software?

A: I usually work at Ableton using a lot of VSTs on my computer. Besides, I have an old synthesizer called Synthetone SX 2000 and my Roland 606.

FB: Did you have a relationship with Lehar or Musumeci before you got your first reference on Multinotes?

A: I met Lehar and Musumeci a few months before my first reference in Multinotes, since that day we have a great friendship.

FB: How do you make a living from music these days? Do you do something else that you have been doing in parallel with it?

A: These times are being complicated but they are helping me to start new projects, all related to music

FB: Our favorite song edited?

A: Phew, complicated question. Maybe right now if I had to choose one it would be Equanimity.

FB: The one you like the least?

A: I think Amore Cosmico, not for anything but because I want to change some things.

FB: What can you tell us that we don’t know about your relationship with Aera and Applied Magic?

A: I feel very lucky to have been able to work with Aera on his Applied Magic label.  Aera is a great producer and a very good guy.

FB: Do you see yourself (if everything goes back to normal) playing in Ibiza?

A: Yes in fact I have been doing it with Lehar and Musumecia in Mute. It was great, hopefully I’ll be back soon.

FB: We have a fun little test that we want to do with you today:

Place/city of birth? In a small town near Rome called Genzano di Roma
What music do you remember listening to as a child in your home? I usually listened to “Lucio Barristi” as a child and music from the 60’s and 70’s.
The DJ who made you dance the most in your adolescence? I think Moodymann
The strangest thing they asked you or have you seen at the DJ booth? I was playing in London, it was time for the track selection and I accidentally stopped the cdj that was playing.
A drug you’ve tried? I prefer not to answer.
A city to retire in? Maybe Venice.
A track for your funeral? Deftones – be quiet and drive far away (Acoustic)

Thank you Aldebaran, keep it up!
