Ibiza’s iconic sunset venue Café Mambo has announced details of a new competition for aspiring DJs, commencing on 4th August in partnership with Absolut.

 In what promises to be the ultimate Ibiza experience, the competition is offering one lucky winner the chance to play a sunset set at the idyllic nightspot this September, as well as flights to the White Isle, up to three nights accommodation, airport transfers and access to the facilities at the Las Mimosas Boutique Hotel & Spa with a friend.

There will also be a masterclass with one of the Café Mambo resident DJs, while the winner’s set will be livestreamed online. To enter, participants must upload a 30-minute mix to Mixcloud and tag #CafeMamboAbsolutDJCompetition. The competition is open now and will run until 31st August. The official winner will be announced on 15th September.

Café Mambo recently launched its long-awaited summer 2021 season, already hosting performances from the likes of MK, Sam Divine, Afrojack and the Dunmore Brothers, with the brand also set to tour the UK in the coming months.

Mix Guideline:

  • Upload a 30 minute set to Mixcloud
  • Title the mix CaféMambo x Absolut DJ Competition
  • Tag your mix#CafeMamboAbsolutDJCompetition. If you fail to tag it correctly, your mix may be missed.
  • Include the competition cover-art, found here.

Judging: 

  • Entrants will be judged by Café Mambo’s resident DJs including Jason Bye, Andy Baxter, Danny O, Sara de Araújo.
  • Factors taken into consideration will include: number of plays, positive feedback, originality, suitability for a sunset set, track selection, artists ability to use Mixcloud and other social media platforms to promote themselves.
  • Mixes must gain over 50 plays to be considered for the shortlist.
  • The final decision will be made by Café Mambo, their resident DJs and Mixcloud.
