TIME LOST:

‘¿EL ÚLTIMO CONCIERTO?’ THE CAMPAIGN TO MAKE THE INDUSTRY FINALLY HEARD

Almost 60 venues throughout Spain have decided to join in through the initiative “The last concert?” in which several artists will play from each of these halls in a festival that will be broadcast on 18th November , in streaming, starting at 8pm.

With this initiative, the aim is to raise our voices once again so that we can be heard at the “most critical, convulsive and uncertain” moment for live music, with practically 100% of the venues closed for the last eight months due to the coronavirus health crisis.

“The live music sector is one of the most affected by this situation and, in particular, concert halls, spaces with almost 5,000 direct workers, most of whom have been affected by ERTE, a large number of intermittent workers, freelancers and SMEs that provide services to the activity and a large number of musicians, technicians, record labels, photographers, bookers, promoters and many more affected by the forced closure”, states the note.

In addition, nearly 25,000 concerts have been cancelled, and the losses that the venues will accumulate until the end of the year will total nearly 120 million euros, which could lead to the irreversible closure of many of them, adding to the 15 venues that have already closed their doors definitively in different parts of the country.
