TIME LOST:

Mount Kimbie, Gilles Peterson, Maribou State, Max Cooper and more announced for brand new Lisbon festival, Nova Batida

Nova Batida is a brand new city festival for Europe blending together the freshest music, art, culture and lifestyle from all corners of the world in one of the most exciting creative hubs.

We are combining one of the freshest brands with perhaps the freshest city with about the freshest line-up. Soundcrash, promoters of some of the finest London events plus creators of Soundwave, Paradise Island and Funk & Soul Weekender festivals have gone out to create something really unique and special. Set in possibly the most exciting city in Europe right now Soundcrash’s Nova Batida encompasses all that this great and beautiful city has to offer as well being 15 mins from some of the best surf beaches in the world.

Nova Batida will be spread across two venues in Lisbon, the LX Factory and Village Underground Lisboa.  A sprawling converted factory with courtyards, out buildings, even avenues and warehouses has been turned into LX Factory, one of the most significant creative hubs in Europe with roof terraces, bars, fashion outlets and much more.
Village Underground Lisboa is made up of a disused tram terminus, partially used as a film set and is made into work and event space from a series of shipping containers and busses

Seven cinematic hillsides overlooking the Rio Tejo cradle Lisbon’s postcard-perfect panorama of cobbled alleyways, ancient ruins and white-domed cathedrals – a captivating recipe crafted over centuries. However, this traditional view of Lisbon has been added to in recent years by a more cutting edge side to the city. The ‘New Berlin’ tag is gradually being replaced by the ‘Lisbon is the New Lisbon’ tag. A cultural and arts hub, a music hub, a tech hub, Lisbon’s popularity has truly exploded.

In its maiden year, the Nova Batida line-up will combine some of the best international talent spreading across multiple genres with a focus on new and exciting. Headlining this years festival will are Mount Kimbie fresh off the back of their critically acclaimed third album ‘Love What Survives, with  Maribou State are bringing their full live 7 piece band in the lead up to the release of the new LP. There are surf classes you can sign up for, if that’s not your bag then there yoga classes, or you can just kick back with a craft beer and watch the street artists transform the whole of Village Underground over the weekend.
