PRINTWORKS ANNOUNCE COLLABORATION WITH SÓNAR FESTIVAL FOR ITS 31ST EDITION IN BARCELONA.
Printworks will join forces with the legendary Sónar Festival to deliver a brand new stage to Sónar by Night on 14th and 15th June. The programme for the SonarLab X Printworks stage will be co-curated to explore the identities of both music brands, featuring an innovative and exploratory roster of live acts, artists and DJs who have been associated with both entities’ over the years. This first collaboration will dig deep into both audio and visual personalities, bringing together a complex, and compelling meeting of minds for these music giants.
A festival with a long-standing reputation as a pioneer and a game changer in electronic music, Sónar is recognized globally for consistently creating, innovating, and pushing the boundaries of musical exploration over three decades . Printworks has shown a commitment to crafting an audience-led experience that fuses unrivaled production, lighting and audiovisual elements in a way like no venue has done before. They have successfully built a cult community that has far extended outside of their original printing factory space. This joint effort will bring the essence of the venue to Spain for the first time, with a brand new format showcasing their emblematic AV production and artistic curation.
The billing reflects the dynamic sounds from both parties, including live performances by Octave One and American producer Sepehr, joining those by modern trance icon KI/KI, master of German deep house Cinthie and the enigmatic British rap and grime artist CASISDEAD. The stage will also host drum’n’bass legends DJ Flight & MC Chickaboo, much heralded house producer salute, Marie Montexier b2b Mor Elian bringing a heavy dose of electro and acid, C.FRIM b2b BAMBII drawing on a wide amalgam of modern club sounds, a sophisticated, layered set from JASSS, Printworks resident Swoose and Jokkoo Collective’s DJ TNTC.

The SonarLab X Printworks stage will be a key feature of the wider Sónar 2024 programme, built to highlight creativity across digital culture across all eras and disciplines. From dance music pioneers, contemporary icons and groundbreaking techno acts, and a renewed focus on radical aesthetics, Sónar aims to feature boundary pushing formats, and to platform of hyperlocal promoters and collectives from around the world.
