TIME LOST:

PRINTWORKS LONDON ANNOUNCE MORE ARTISTS FOR THEIR FINAL SEASON.

Since their opening in 2017, Printworks London has grown to become a cornerstone of London’s club culture, in that time welcoming a countless range of artists, labels, crews, collectives, DJs, live acts, visual artists and creators into their brutalist industrial space. As part of the Final Season in their current form, Printworks can announce another selection of cutting-edge and breakthrough artists, plus new shows, and details.

A key part of the Printworks programming, and all-round-iconic club brand The Hydra has been an integral part of shaping London’s left-leaning underground culture for 10 years. The Hydra take over five easter dates with TEACHERS – welcoming five club brands who have each been game-changers and masters in their own right. This features fabric, FWD>>, Plastic People, Tresor, and That’s How It Is, each curating a night in line with their individual and infamous legacy.

Starting off, long-standing London superclub Fabric pulls in Fatima Yamaha, Dusky, Âme, DJ Tennis, Amaliah and more. Moving to Friday, FWD>>’s bill is stacked with legends from the raves history, spanning sonics from dubstep and 140, to bass and techno – this is an unmissable moment that will see Skream, Ben UFO, D Double E, Anz, Oneman, Flava D, DJ Tubby, Martyn and more. All under one roof raving on Saturday April 8th is the return of the treasured Plastic People, a cultural space that played a key part in the formative years of so many during its time. Hydra are pleased to announce that Plastic People’s TEACHER’s bill is a gathering of revolutionary acts who were involved with the space – Omar S, Actress, Artwork, Benji B, Jamie XX, NIKS, Volcov and more.

Berlin’s revered industrial institution Tresor invites a selection of techno heavyweights with Jeff Mills, Ben Klock b2b DVS1, LSDXOXO, Verraco, and more, and finally Gilles Peterson’s ‘That’s How It Is’ is the final show in the TEACHERS run. Gilles himself plays, alongside UNKLE, Bonobo DJ Set, Nightmares on Wax, Roni Size, Tash LC and a host of other talent. Repping what each institution stands for, the line-ups will feature talent old and new to recreate their ethos.

Another big reveal is with Ed Banger Records XX, featuring a plethora of label talent including a rare show from JUSTICE, whose left-leaning rock fused electronica has gained the duo a cult following across the world. They’ll be joined by Annie Mac, Uffie, Busy P, Vegyn and many more special guests across the two Printworks spaces. Foreverland also drops the names for their party, with Jax Jones, Route94, Dale Howard, Nancie and plenty more affiliates who will recreate the Foreverland magic.

Other highlights for this packed-out season will be a special outing from Defected on March 11th. The long-term venue affiliate unites a range of label family old and new with Arielle Free, Darius Syrossian, Hannah Wants, Low Steppa, Melé, Melon Bomb All Night Long in Inkwells. On top of this, Printworks can share line-ups club regulars ABODE with legendary duo Groove Armada, Yousef, Paige Tomlinson and more, whilst Glitterbox announce a plethora of feel-good, energetic house headed up by Young Pulse. Charlotte De Witte returns for a second day with KNTXT, where Chris Leibing, Shlømo, Rebekah join, with 9X9 playing live and more.

Plans for the closing weekend of the venue’s lifespan will take place across Friday 28th – Monday 1st May 2023.

This final season’s programming reflects six years of eclectic and diverse programming since Printworks first opened Printworks London in February 2017. Once home to the largest printing factory in Western Europe, the original aesthetics, giant machines and printing presses were preserved to create a stunning, industrial environment in which to present its award-winning music programme and set piece events. Regularly voted one of the best venues in the world, the iconic press halls have welcomed over 3,000 artists across around 300 internationally-acclaimed shows in the world in recent years.
