MALTA TO HOST TWO LANDMARK EVENTS OVER TWO DAYS NEXT MONTH

Malta is gearing up to host two memorable events in two days next month, with both the BBC Concert Orchestra and iconic Oasis ex frontman Liam Gallagher lined up to perform on the miniature Mediterranean island on 17th and 18th July at The Granaries, Floriana.

Radio 2 will host Friday Night Is Music Nights’, Light’s, Camera, Malta! event on Wednesday 17th. The UK’s most listened to radio station will host an evening celebrating some of the most classic film soundtracks of all time, including many shot over the years in Malta, all with the Concert Orchestra and guests. This special concert will also be broadcast later in the season on Friday 27th of September. 

‘Friday Night Is Music Night’ is the world’s longest running orchestral live music show. For over sixty years it has celebrated music from  every genre – classical, film, opera, jazz, operetta and musical theatre, attracting the top singers, instrumentalists, conductors, and presenters from stage, film and television. Previous shows have included The Wizard of Oz, the film scores of John Williams,  the music of Queenwith renowned performers such as Gary Barlow, Beverley Knight, Michael Bolton and Rick Astleyhaving performed over the years.

Liam Gallagher will then perform live the following night, at an event hosted by national airline Air Malta. With hit solo album, ‘As You Were’ under his belt, the award winning, former Oasis-frontman will bring his his famed charisma and playful antics to the island for night of live music.
