TIME LOST:

OGUZ: THE NEW FACE OF TECHNO.

Hola Oguz, Where are you in the world right now, and what’s the setting like?

Hola, Well I am currently in Budapest, Hungary. To be honest I don’t know why haha, I played Germany & Italy this weekend and decided super randomly just before my show in Italy to go Budapest instead of home. Actually nice to clear.

When would you say music truly took off for you?

Well musically wise since the start of my career (2016) I’ve built a career and sound very quickly because everything I did i tried to do as profesional as possible and very quickly I toured all over Europe in that era. What is quiet funny since I was 18/19 years old and very shy. But it helped me develop my personality a lot.

What was the moment you thought: “Wow, this DJ thing is actually blowing up”?

When I started playing in these super huge venues with 5000-10000 ravers. That really made me realise; Wow is this even real. I couldn’t even dream about this back in the days, now I have like hundreds thousands of fans all over the world waiting to dance with me.

Did you dream of living a moment like this? What did you expect?

For 6 years I’ve worked and dreamed so hard to be where i am now. But this is just the beginning because my dreams are huge and it’s just starting.

Oguz

What other artists have helped you to get here?

Actually not a lot since I have always been quiet independent and really focused on myself a lot what made the journey a little longer but worth it. Ofcourse there are some artists which I have deep connections with who helped me a lot through this journey musically & emotionally wise which i would like to thank and that are: 6EJOU & 74185#.

Do you find it hard to focus on music production when you’re DJing so much?

Actually it helped me even more to push my inspiration to work on making tracks on the road. 9/10 of my latest tracks were all made in Trains, planes & hotelrooms. The inspiration I gain from my gigs and travels make my productions very unique and creative. Like sounds, vocals & vibes from the country I am located at that moment.

What’s your take on the modern techno scene in general?

That’s a hard question since i am very focused on creating my own sound, intimate connection with my fans, actually my own scene. But I am proud of the fact that (hard)techno is becoming loved worldwide because i’ve been manifesting this for almost 10 years.

Where do you see the techno music industry going in the next 10 years?

I think its gonna grow even more and Its gonna split itself in more genres and scenes. But its gonna take over the music industry for sure.

And where will Oguz be in 10 years?

I see myself sharing my passion & sounds all over the world in front of the biggest crowds. I want to create & share moments people Will never forget and nobody else can do. I have big goals & missions which I’ve set for my self.

We met at Domo in Granada, What do you remember about that night?

Well Granada was amazing, I think about it regularly because it blew away all my expectations. The venue, the crew, the crowd, everything was perfect. It was a really special moment for me! Definitely somewhere in my all-time top 10 gigs.

What does Spain mean to you?

Spain has special place in my heart. The connection I have with my people here and the love they give me everytime I am on the stage is just wonderful. I always come to spain with excitement and leave with a warm heart. YO AMO ESPAÑA or as I always scream FUEGO BABY! X OGUZ
