DAMIAN LAZARUS CANCELA SU ACTUACIÓN EN MADRID, POR SER EN UNA PLAZA DE TOROS
Sobre la hora de comer de hoy día 6 de marzo, Damian Lazarus ha hecho un comunicado en su cuenta de facebook explicando que para él es imposible actuar en un lugar dónde se ha derramado sangre. Por lo que Replay se queda sin el set de artista británico. Damian Lazarus y su equipo estudian opciones para una pronta actuación en la capital de España con el fin de sustituir lo sucedido. Os dejamos el comunicado:
«Hace un par de días me alertaron sobre el hecho de que un local que debo pinchar este domingo en Madrid, #lasventas, el cual se está utilizando para las corridas de toros. Discutí esto con mi equipo y parece que mientras se les dijo que era una plaza de toros, Replay Sunset Parties nunca les dijo que todavía se está utilizando activamente para las corridas de toros. Como en España hay muchos edificios históricos antiguos «ahora cerrados» que se usan para fiestas, asumimos erróneamente que esto era lo mismo … pero nos equivocamos. Así que hoy he dado el paso muy inusual de cancelar mi programa, ya que simplemente no puedo justificar tocar música hermosa y edificante en un lugar de muerte. Simplemente no puedo hacerlo. El resultado de mi decisión es que ahora estamos buscando un programa de reemplazo pronto en Madrid y espero que sea posible proponer algo especial.Me disculpo profundamente con todos los que esperaban verme tocar este domingo. Les pedimos a los promotores que buscaran un lugar alternativo, pero dicen que era imposible.
Simplemente no se me puede ver para apoyar el asesinato sin sentido y brutal de animales para «entretener» tocando música en la arena manchada de sangre de la pista de baile. Espero que se diviertan allí y lamento no poder estar con ustedes. Con respeto, Damian x»
«A couple of days ago I was alerted to the fact that a venue I am due to play this Sunday in Madrid, #lasventas, is being used for bullfighting. I discussed this with my team and it appears whilst they were told it was a bullring, they were never told by Replay Sunset Parties that it’s still actively being used for bullfighting. As there are many old historic “now closed” bullrings in Spain that are used for parties, we wrongly assumed this was the same.. but we were wrong. So today I have taken the very unusual step of cancelling my show as I simply cannot justify playing uplifting, beautiful music in a place of death. I simply cannot do it. The outcome of my decision is that we are now looking for a replacement show soon in Madrid and I hope it will be possible to come up with something special.
I deeply apologize to everyone that was hoping to see me play this Sunday. We asked the promoters to find an alternative venue but they say it was impossible.I simply cannot be seen to support the senseless and brutal killing of animals for “entertainment” by playing music on the blood stained sand of the dance floor. I hope you guys have fun there and I’m sorry I can’t be with you. With respect, Damian x»
